(More customer reviews)This item replaced the NuTone 0696B000 unit; it spins slower and is rated for slightly less power, but gets the job done much more quietly.Also, the NuTone 0696B000 kit has bad reviews based on thermal switch problems; this unit drops right into the same housing and does not suffer the same problems.I removed the housing vane for better airflow and the performance now equals that of the NuTone 0696B000 unit.Highly recommended to those with older Nutone assemblies who don't want to spend serious money to upgrade to a newer, straight-exhaust setup.

This fan unit still works great, however it does move significantly less air than the 0696B000 unit.I paid $65 for this in April 2010; I see it's now priced at over a hundred bucks.This is a difficult to find, new-old-stock item, so purchase accordingly.The old unit lasted 35 years, and I suspect this one will have a very long service life as well.Noteworthy: the motor that ships with this is a genuine Nutone unit, not a knock-off.
