(More customer reviews)Used this fan as a duct booster fan for the bonus room over my garage.The 40' of 12x8 duct just didn't let enough air get to the room, unless I closed down on all the dampers upstairs, and then it took forever to heat upstairs.
HVAC specialists will say that a booster fan is just a bandaide, but it was much cheaper then putting in 40' of 16x8 duct, and it works great. I used sound mounts and the isolation collars, and I can't even hear the fan when standing directly below it.It supplies more then enough air to feed 3 7" ducts.I am very happy.
Be sure you buy the "Stabilizing/Mounting Clamps For Rigid Duct Work", which are neoprene lined collars to make installation easy, and to provide sound damping to prevent transmitting vibration to your rigid ducting.
