(More customer reviews)I purchased this product about a week ago (on sale from another website). There is just too much hype surrounding this "air circulator". Maybe I expected too much from this after viewing the video, reading about the technology, other reviews etc.
Now that I have had the opportunity of using it first hand, I would say it is a glorified fan - missing some critical features such as :
1. Side-to-side swivel - IMHO, adding a swivel feature would only enhance the airflow (and equalize temperature more evenly)
2. Adjustable height - Seriously.. fully assembled, this is about 3 feet tall.. One would at least expect it to be taller than a bed to have any use in a bedroom!
The control switch is quite awkward - in order to turn it off, you first have to increase the speed all the way to 3. Similarly, from off mode, it goes to full speed on the first click.. turning the dial further lowers the speed. Not a big deal.. just odd!
Also, the part of this being a "whole room" circulator seems to be an exaggeration.. it is a one (or two) person fan with the face directly pointed at you. That said, used this way (at speed 2), it does keep me cool in the sweltering Florida heat.. It moves a lot of air.
It makes about as much noise a regular desk fan. I've read lots of reviews claiming extremely long life for these fans.. time alone will tell (It does come with a 5 yr warranty.. that is good!)
