.....pros.....
+...It works great for my medium-sized apartment, keeping it cool.
+...It's reasonably quiet on low fan speed; at least quieter than my last air conditioner. (An inexpensive G.E. model)
+...Sleek, modern design with good looks, electronic keypad, temp sensor & remote control.
+...Multiple settings, with 3 fan speeds (high; med; low) for each: "Fan"; "Cool"; "Energy Saver"; and "Dehumidifier".
+...Great price! (At least at the time I bought it) :)

.....cons.....
-...Installation instructions are a little weak- it's best to have experienced help- drilling involved.
-...The included side flaps have a number of air gaps. I recommend white duct tape for extra sealing.
-...It advertises "Whisper Quiet" on the box- seems like a bit of marketing exaggeration, in my opinion.
-...Temperature sensor seems to be a bit off at times.
-..."Energy Saver" seems tricky- instructions say it'll shut off for 3 minutes periodically- mine seems to shut off for good.

In spite of these issues, I'm giving this 5 stars- I'm exceedingly happy with it! We get a number of searingly hot 100+ degree summer days with humidity here in Chicago, and my apartment is keeping cool to say the least. I even have to switch to fan sometimes to keep it from getting too cold; it's really that effective. 5 Stars!

P.S. This review is for White 10,000 BTU Window A/C by Haier- Amazon ASIN B000CSXTF8. About the temp setting on the keypad: This setting controls when the cold air kicks in. If the temp setting is too high, the cold air will never turn on. If you set it to around 75 degrees or lower, that will indicate that when temperatures rise higher than that, the air conditioner will start the cooling process. Setting it at 70 degrees will likely have the cold air blasting all the time, even to the point of the whole thing freezing over. This temp setting can be adjusted by using the up & down keys. Keep hitting the down key until the cold air kicks in.

GE 4 Watts LED PAR 16 Review

(More customer reviews)I love these stout little led lamps, very sturdy and well-built. They are perfect for accent lightning around a dining room, or for a reading light in the normally dark big screen living room area. The light is so directional; no distractive light finds its way to the screen. You will notice these lamps are cut flat. I think that's the coolest part, because they sit well down into the light socket. This hides direct view of the light source, which means people on the floor cushions in my living room don't get zapped by my reading light over by the couch. The flat design also makes otherwise boring light fixtures into visually interesting objects, because there is this nice warm, full light coming from a fixture that itself appears only subtly lit. No bulb peeking out at the slightest provocation. Very classy!

(More customer reviews)I have installed these on the last two houses I have owned.Having just moved into a new home, I will be installing as many of these as I can get to replace the exhaust vents (wall caps)on my outside walls.I have louver wall caps now and you can hear the wind whistling through the vent pipes inside the house when the exhaust fans aren't on.There ought to be a building energy code outlawing vent wall caps that leak air so easily. But the Super-Efficient Dryer Vent solves this problem of air infiltration, as well as that of rodent entry.You need this vent style in windy areas, and particularly if you have those dryer vents that have been installed at ground level. If the contractor has installed your vent in the foundation vent of your home, you are almost guaranteed an entry point for mice.With leaky vents at ground level, rodents can easily make their way into your home unless you have this improved style of vent. The top cover of this vent comes off easily so you can keep the device free of any lint buildup from that which gets by your dryer's lint filter, even though the lint buildup doesn't seem to prevent the vent's shuttle from opening and shutting as necessary.

Nuvision makes a soft white, candelabra base bulb specifically for this kind of fan, and it's bulb style, so you can have a traditional look while still using cfls.

(More customer reviews)This is a cut to fit solution to a heat loss problem. Now that it's in place, I don't notice it. The supplied Velcro tape made no sense to me, as you would have part of it permanently attached to the shutter. It would look tacky. I went out and bought two roll of adhesive magnetic tape (less than $3.00 for both), attached the tape to the back of the insulation, and stuck the insulation up to the shutter for a tight, magnetic seal. When summer comes, the insultation goes away with no evidence of its existance.
