(More customer reviews)I wanted the simplest digital thermostat possible for use in an oft-rented condo. Unlike most, you don't even have to press a button on this one to see the current setting. It is in their commercial line, so it is sturdy and very flexible as to system type and wiring. The only drawback for some applications is that you have to pry the front cover off to replace the batteries. This avoids the little doors that usually break or fall off in heavy usage, but it also means that people unfamiliar with it could have trouble replacing the batteries, and unless your thermostat wiring supplies power (many don't), it needs the batteries to operate. Price is great and it was shipped on time.

It's a reading light and a fan all in one compact unit that's simpleto use and easy to store. At just 9-1/2" high and 7-1/4" wide, it contains a bright light, and a two-speed 4.5" fan that delivers lots of air movement. There is a separate switch for botht he light and the fan, so you can enjoy the light, the fan, or both at the same time. Power consumption is very reasonable, at just .64 amps for the light and .3 amps for the fan. The fan is also very useful to eliminate condensation problems that can sometimes fill a folding camping trailer with a haze or even cuase water beading inside the roof of the tent fabric over the beds. (More customer reviews)I bought the Crane Tower fan b/c I was looking for something that could cool my room without taking up too much space and making too much noise. I have tried the cheaper tower fans in the past, but they do not produce sufficient cooling air. I thought that by spending a few extra bucks, I could get a fan that would last for a while, or at least not blow hot air.

Pros:
-Color blends well w/ furniture
-Digital aspect looks chic
-Can turn off digital aspect
-The fan is tall so air is blown into the floor

Cons:
-The print on the fan remote rubs off after multiple uses
-Has three settings but all are pretty weak
-CHEAPLY made
* Most of all, it does't prodcue enough force to cool even my teenie-tiny bedroom, with the door closed...

(More customer reviews)Sadly I bought this item from a link in google that took me to Amazon and didn't list all the sources ON Amazon that sold it.I ended up paying $15 or so more than necessary for it, since Their price was more than Target's SHIPPED price.I bought it at Beach Audio, through Amazon for $33.07 with a shipping charge of $14.35, for a final price of $47.42.Had I realized I should have RE-searched on Amazon for the brand and model number I would have found it from Target at the $25 listed price and shipping under $7!!! A substantial savings.

HOWEVER, sad as I am that I could have saved a few of my Social Security bucks, I'm totally amazed at the job this tiny fan is doing for me.Here's my situation, and though I'm sure yours is quite different, you can see the value of the appliance:

I'm a retired person, living upstairs in a tiny living quarters with someone else living downstairs who is in control of the heating and cooling of the house.During the fall and spring when it's nice outside, the house heat is turned on and migrates upward to become trapped in my tiny living quarters.If I open a window, the heat goes out and the heating system comes back on to make more, I'm sure this causes their electric bill to skyrocket.I found that if I become uncomfortable, I can close my door and my air conditioning vent and crack a window for fresh air, allowing the heat transmitted through the floor to warm the room.This works pretty well, but sometimes not much air comes in the window... and occasional birds and insects to find their way in.

The little Honeywell fit one of my windows perfectly and can be set to quietly blow air in and out at the same time, and it's thermostatically controlled so it can hold the room at exactly the temperature I like.If I want to smoke a cigar or my pipe, I can set it to exhaust through both fans, or to circulate in and out faster, so I don't have to worry about poluting the air throughout the house (be sure the door and a/c vent are closed before doing this, they WILL notice :).

The fan blades are plastic, but well enough made so the low setting is not objectionable at all.I had tried a 20" box fan to exhaust air before, but that was extremely noisy even at the lowest setting.The low setting on this one makes no more noise than my computer fan and still moves air so well I immediately feel the fresh air.

I paid too much for it, but it's worth twice the price to me.I'm a happy old man and very pleased with my purchase.I hope it lasts a long time!

But at even the slowest speed I have to turn up the TV or stereo considerably to hear over it, so I only use it when the going gets rough. But I believe that's the case with any of these "wind tunnel" fan cases; my honeywell non-oscillating fan of similiar design and size is just as noisy. It's difficult to clean the dust out of the grills. I especially like the pedestal design for where I have it and setting things down at the base doesn't interfere with it's operation. After maybe three years it finally stopped oscillating but I've not wanted to go without it long enough to open it up and try to fix it yet. It's still keeping me and my dog cool!

I sleep with a fan every night and bought this for the bedroom. The first thing I noticed was the bright blue light. It's very distracting while trying to sleep. Then I started hearing a strange noise coming from the fan. It was almost like it was trying to turn, but was stuck and scraping and it wasn't even set to rotate! It also didn't give as much of a breeze as other fans I have had. Overall, it was a bust. I was excited about the remote and sleep timer, but it's going back anyways. If it was being used in the living room or other busy area, it would probably be fine.

(More customer reviews)This fan is great because you can have it oscillating vertically or horizontally. I have this fan laying over an air conditioning/heating vent in my condo. I have a studio. The vent is under the window and I lay this fan over the vent in order to push either the heat or cold air across my studio. It's like having central heating and air conditioning.

I'm not sure how well the ionizer works since I don't use it. Personally I wonder if those things really do any good. I've had mine for nearly 3 years so far with no problems. I may get another one and put it somewhere else in my studio.

Too bad it doesn't come in black but the brushed stainless steel is very attractive too.

(More customer reviews)You know when you buy something, and it's garbage, and you then tell yourself, "I should have known,"? Well, this is one of those things. I was at the local home store and we needed a fan, my old vornado was starting to make some rattling noises. I saw this and thought, "Wow, two fans that look nice for a really good price! How bad can it be? Two fans!" Well, I didn't think about it until I got home and plugged one, but what I should have thought was, "Wow, how bad must these be that they are selling two for such a cheap price." Needless to say I did not. And, as luck would have it, I tossed the receipt. So, I am stuck with not one, but two lousy fans. The push very little air, even on the highest setting, and are so loud that we had to put the captions on the TV in order to know what was going on (for reference, we have a 60" Sony, and it is about 8 feet away). I now have purchased another vornado, (see my review), and am thrilled with it. I don't know what "Turbo Force," means to the engineers, but, kudos to the marketing department. You sucked me right in. I'm out over $50....don't make the same mistake. I should note that they have a nice handle, which perhaps one can use to smash the unit into the wall before you die of heat stroke. Okay, I am being dramatic. You are right. I am very upset because I tossed the receipt, right again. However, these fans are horrible regardless. If you buy it after reading this review, please come back and enter your comments about how right I was, and with any luck you will save your receipt.

Honeywell Mega Turbo High-Velocity Fan - Black Review

(More customer reviews)If you think of this fan more in the air circulator class of significantly more expensive/larger metallic blade fans and not just as a traditional 'box' fan it suddenly starts to make a whole lot more sense.This is NOT a fan to be used if noise is at all a concern.And really, should anything labeled 'Mega Turbo High Velocity' be thought of otherwise??They can only be expected to do so much to set your expectations after all.Even by loud fan standards, this thing is LOUD.But if cooling is your primary concern then it's pretty much impossible to beat this unit for the price.

I know the previous reviewer complained about the shape of the blades.It is a noiser blade design.But like the aircraft rotor design it borrows from it also allows for MUCH faster rotational speeds than traditional petal blade fan designs and therefore creates significantly greater air circulation.Seriously, if you're wanting to move air, what better company to do that than one that designs jet engines?I've always joked that if I could lash together about 10 of these that I could probably get airborne.

I use this fan for tasks like cooling my home gym during workouts, for a quick cool off after working in the yard, cooling my garage/shop when working on projects and when laying out on our back deck getting sun.You can point this thing at you in 100+ degree high humidity heat and feel ok because it moves so much air.

Another thing worth noting is the long term durability.I've had one of these for over 5 years now and recently bought another one as I was tired of moving the old one around the house so much.We have other fans, but if I need major cooling, I won't settle for anything less than this.These newer ones are actually notably quieter than its older sister model, but still loud relative to other fans.Living in the Deep South though, I need a fan more for my overall comfort and not for my ears sensitivities.This one's top notch in that regard.
