(More customer reviews)It moves air, that's for sure!I"ve been very glad I have it during heat waves (no A/C). But at even the slowest speed I have to turn up the TV or stereo considerably to hear over it, so I only use it when the going gets rough. But I believe that's the case with any of these "wind tunnel" fan cases; my honeywell non-oscillating fan of similiar design and size is just as noisy. It's difficult to clean the dust out of the grills. I especially like the pedestal design for where I have it and setting things down at the base doesn't interfere with it's operation. After maybe three years it finally stopped oscillating but I've not wanted to go without it long enough to open it up and try to fix it yet. It's still keeping me and my dog cool!

(More customer reviews)I have been using this fan with a thermostat for two years in a residential meter room that is enclosed. My breakers had been tripping due to thermal shutdown. I had an electrician look at my panels in this room and wanted to charge me over $10,000.00 to redo the electrical panels (all four).

So I bought this and it solved the issue! Easy to install, mine came with the lag bolts, and hooking it up to the thermostat was no big deal.

Matter of fact I bought another one and stuck it in my garage which has an a/c unit. I run it in the fall / spring when the humidity is not too bad.

Great unit and no it is not an oscillating fan; but it is so powerful the air flow / output is tremendous.

I live in the Pacific NW and have a large studio apartment. It keeps the entire living, dining area very comfortable. I've ordered an second one for the kitchen area.It is extremely quiet and efficient. Being wall mounted just below ceiling level,the air from it will not blow directly on your food cooling it quickly as a ceiling fan would. Storage is unnecessary, it remains on the wall year round leaving floor space free, with no cords to trip over. Great product and great price!

We had another fan that was too loud for her and that vibrated terribly when we placed it up high enough so she could feel the wind from it. This fan was the perfect solution! We clipped it on her bed and she can adjust it herself from off to high or low. It is the quietest fan in our house by far and she can still hear her Mozart good night music, which we play quietly, over the fan. The fan is easy to angle or adjust as well and the clip is strong once you've placed it so it stays in place. We are really happy with this purchase and my husband who can't stand to hear a pin drop is considering getting one for himself.

(More customer reviews)This fan is whisper quiet, even at the highest speed.The tilt function is useful -- it tilts at a 45-degree angle, so it's necessary to reposition the entire fan as to direction once you have it tilted to aim it where you want the air to go.

The rotating grille, at first, looks symmetrical.On closer inspection, each successive louver changes angle as they move around the circle of the grille.Thus, when you turn the grille rotation feature on, the air sweeps in a wide conical pattern as it moves away from the fan.If you want the air to go in a particular direction, you can leave the grille rotation switch in the off position and rotate the grille by hand until the air is blowing in the direction you want.

I actually use the two-hour timer feature a lot.The exhaust fan in my bathroom is ineffective, so when I shower, I leave the door open and have a fan blowing into the bathroom so that moisture doesn't cling to the walls and cause mildew.After the shower, I keep the fan on for two hours to make sure the entire bathroom dries out.My tile stays mildew-free a lot longer when I do this.I can leave for work with the fan running.

During a heat wave, when it cools off at night as it does here, I set the fan in my window, up against the screen, to bring cool air inside.At bedtime, if it's still a few degrees too warm, I keep the fan on and use the 2-hour timer so it doesn't stay on all night.

This is the quietest fan I've ever owned, though not the most powerful.It's great for smaller rooms, especially the bedroom at night when it's warm.The timer is absolutely quiet.(If you happen to get one that ticks loudly as another reviewer did, it's defective and you should exchange it for another one.)

One other nice thing is that you can mount this fan on a wall or on a door jamb, high up and out of the way.There are a couple of key-hole shaped screw holes in the bottom of the feet to accept mounting screws.Very useful if you have a situation where you need the fan in a permanent place and you want it out of the way -- I'm going to mount it on the wall just outside my bathroom for just this reason and buy a second one for the living room, to use on the window sill.
