Finishing my basement - did reviews and purchased Panasonic FV08VKS2 because I thought the option to continue running for X amount of time after you shut it off was a cool feature.I couldn't get this to work though.There's a technical wiring diagram provided, but no descriptions or instructions related to how to wire it.Just shows a power switch and a level switch.So there is the hot/neutral/ground, and two reds - that I assume are for a speed control.So with just the hot/neutral/ground hooked up - when I shut it off, it's definitely off - which I know this is obvious - but there's not indication I should hook up another hot to one of the reds or anything.So the delay control that is supposed to run it after you shut it off - this actually worked exact opposite for me - when I set the delay - it means that the fan doesn't turn ON until that delay is completed.This is messed up and useless.

Anyway - I had also purchase a Braun fan for a diff area in basement - install to the joists and wiring was so much more straightforward - got that at Home Depot.

The Panasonic is very quite though - you could run it full time and probably wouldn't notice.

(More customer reviews)This fan worked correctly for about a week, then malfunctioned.Whether on low or high, it would sometimes slow to almost "off".This is a malfunction, not a breeze function that some more expensive fans have.There is apparently a short circuit or numerous ones in the wiring.

Even when it did work right for the 1st week, I still hated it, since it's not a simple left/right oscillation.It instead rotates in a weird not-quite figure 8 pattern that is totally useless and random.

Unfortunately I tossed the box and receipt or I'd return it, but I'm never buying another Accutek product again.It's a bad design, horribly built.Not a winning combo!

The light is very simply made and will accept fluorescent light bulb which will add a lot of light to the kitchen without using much energy.

That said, this fan is much quieter than the rattletrap it replaced. With an old house, I had a lot of expensive problems getting it installed, but that's not a fault of the exhaust fan.

Hunter 90313 Retro High-Performance Oscillating 12-Inch 3-Speed Table Fan, Red and Chrome Review

(More customer reviews)This is a beautiful fan inspired by 1930's design. It has three speeds with the lever controlling speeds conveniently located on the side (rather than the back) of the motor housing. On low speed the the noise from the fan is little more than a whisper but still puts out a decent stream of air. It gets a bit noisier on medium and high but the noise is simply the air being moved and not mechanical noise from the motor. It has large chromed metal blades which when spinning only add to the appearance of the fan. Set on high and about 3 feet from the unit, I clocked the air speed at 10mph. Since I've never done this before I'm clueless as to how it stacks up, but for my money it's more than enough.

Finally, with such an attractive machine it would be a shame to see it all covered in dust and gunk. If you look at the red ring that encircles the fan's head, you'll notice a little red bump on the bottom. That's a tab with a single screw holding the red ring in place. Take the screw out and you can remove the red ring which allows you to remove the front grill of the fan in order to clean it. You can clean the fan with just the front grill off or it appears there are other screws that will dismantle the back grill and the blades for more thorough cleaning.

The fan oscillates but tilts neither up nor down. For me this is not a problem as the farther away you are from the fan, the more dispersed the air is. I sleep about three feet below the level of the fan and ten feet away and it's plenty windy for me.

Lasko #2095 9-Inch table fan bluebird Review

(More customer reviews)My wife and I recently moved into a new home. Our bedroom is bigger than the previous one and has some questionable construction (I built it ha!). The master bathroom door is right beside the right side of the bed. I needed a fan that could be placed on the side of the computer desk and would reach the right side of the bed that I sleep on. Here are some results from testing it out.

On speed 1 this fan's breeze could barely be felt from 6 feet away. By barely I mean it really didn't help at all from 6 feet.
On speed 2 this fan's breeze could be felt pretty well from 6 feet away, but it was much louder. Since I wanted it to run while sleeping, this loudness was a bit much for comfort. I like and appreciate white noise, gentle breeze noise, but on 2 it was more annoying than anything.

The good news, my mom needs a fan for her desk at work so I'm going to give it to her since she only needs it to blow about 3-4 feet. I gave it a four because I think if used as a desk fan or if I could put a stand right beside our bed, it would be great. It's a really cute fan. The assembly took all of 5 minutes though it isn't a tool-less assembly as a Phillips-head screwdriver is needed to tighten the band that holds the two grates together, but it's still much easier to put together than the majority of fans I've tried.

It has a timer and thermostat-like feature that I'm not sold on. It listed the room temperature as 74. The brand new Trane heat pump lists the room temperature as 68 and a digital clock/thermometer in the room lists the room as 68.4. I really didn't even realize it had this feature so no point reductions. I just wanted a fan that wouldn't take up much room and could reach 6 feet away without creating a lot of noise.

Overall, it's a good fan. I seem to expect more from Lasko than other fan makers. My construction company uses their stand fans to keep a breeze going before we install central heat and air and have always had good experiences with those bigger Lasko fans. I guess if this fan were maybe 1-2 inches bigger it would probably work perfectly for my need.

Lastly, it is quiet on speed 1. It also would be very easy to clean as the two grates around the fan snap apart by loosening a screw that creates pressure. One other thing not mentioned in the product description, this fan does tilt. It has a couple of tilt positions. That should explain the still good 4 star rating as I do believe this is a high quality fan.
